Word on the street is that State Legislature in Arizona has proclaimed that the ban and tax on plastic bags from consumer transaction has created a lag in the economy. Logically, they are calling for a ban of the ban that many states embrace. However, other state officials such as councilwoman Lauren Kuby, counters that they do more harm than good for the cost to the state’s recycling facilities repairs and litter-removal.
Tempe, Arizona: 50 million single-use plastic bags used each year…less than 5 percent are recycled.
